Was wondering if anyone has done the rear conversion on their navigator or similar model? We have a 99 4x2 with the rear air that is leaking and would prefer to do the spring conversion, however, before we proceed we would like to get the pros and cons on doing it.
Will it be a smooth tight ride or will it be bouncy? The kit I saw was just for the coil springs, wouldn't springs without shocks be boucning all over the place?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron. |

Ron,
A non-air conversion is never going to ride as well as the air suspension does. In short order, yes the air springs are somewhat expensive, but what you'd be sacrificing is what you origonally paid for, and what makes the navigator what it is. If you look down in the vendor section, there is a place called americanairsuspension that has all the parts you need, and at very reasonable prices. He is based in canada I believe, but look him up and give him a call. |

| the air spring kits you can get on americanairride.com are priced better than bone yard prices and its new or rebuilt. i wouldnt give up my air ride if i didnt have to. i got a 4x4 with four conor leveling and i got some problems going on but you cant beat the ride |
